Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic spoke by phone with Federal Minister of Austria for the European Union and Constitutional Affairs Karoline Edtstadler about the upcoming European Union-Western Balkans video summit.
Joksimovic emphasised that Serbia has proved by numerous examples that it is a credible partner of the EU and that it can successfully contribute to the development of the most important European policies and to the common response and action of the Union to various crises.
Speaking about the EU-WB Summit, she expressed her expectation that the Union would recognise the progress made by Serbia and the region and support the continuation of the reform process, but that it would continue to invest in the region to assist and contribute to a comprehensive recovery.
In this regard, as she pointed out, a significant signal of the European Commission is precisely the announced Economic Investment Package for Sustainable Development of the region, whose details will be known by the end of the year.
Edstadler stressed that Serbia and the region have Austria's support on their path to full EU membership, and that the country will continue to strongly support and promote a credible EU enlargement policy and integration of the Western Balkans.
