Stevanovic said at a regular coronavirus press briefing at the Palace of Serbia that 2,116 patients are hospitalised, 1,551 have been cured and 54 are on ventilatory support. The total number of tests made to date is 101,911.
In the past 24 hours four more persons died, three men and one woman, bringing the total number of fatalities to 193, with the death rate being 2.04%.
He estimated that today's data are good and satisfactory and that if it continues like this, we can hope that the remaining emergency measures will be lifted in a week or two.
According to Stevanovic, it is necessary that the number of positive cases to coronavirus be less than five percent of those tested for several more days so that the curfew could be abolished and restrictions relaxed.
Speaking about prisons in Serbia, the Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic said that only in the prison of Zabela in Pozarevac there are inmates who are positive for coronavirus, and that there are no problems in their medical treatment.
He also said that 450 health workers have been infected with coronavirus, with half of them hospitalised and the rest in isolation waiting for the second negative test so that they could return to work.
