Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Director for the Western Balkans Zsuzsanna Hargitai on the Bank's support for transport projects in the Serbia.

Continued support for EBRD transport projects

Mihajlovic emphasised that one of the important projects financed by the EBRD is the construction of the first section of the Nis-Merdare-Pristina highway, from Nis to Plocnik, for which a tender for the execution of works is planned in late summer.
The EBRD support for regional and local road rehabilitation projects was also discussed.
In addition, they discussed support to the project of reconstruction and modernisation of sections of railway Corridor 10, from Velika Plana to Nis.
They also talked about potential construction of a new port in Belgrade, for which technical documentation is being prepared, as well as the project for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Batajnica, which is planned under the investment plan "Serbia 2025".
Hargitai said that the EBRD continues to support and follow up on the ongoing transport projects, and remains committed to supporting new projects.
