Kisic Tepavcevic said at a regular coronavirus press briefing at the Palace of Serbia that a total of 2,517 patients have been hospitalised to date, 1,260 have been cured and that 79 are on ventilatory support.
In the past 24 hours, six more died of coronavirus related complications, three men and three women, raising the number of total fatalities to 168, Kisic Tepavcevic added.
According to her, the greatest number of those infected is in Belgrade - 2,122, which is 27.38% of the total number, followed by Nis - 1,189 persons or 15.34%, Cuprija 3%, Leskovac 2.68%, Krusevac 2.41%, Valjevo 2.32 %, Aleksinac 2.12%, Paracin 1.99%, Jagodina 1.60% and Bor 1.56%.
Other cities and towns have seen fewer infections, with rare areas where no virus is present, she said, adding that the percentage of positive cases to date is 0.12% of the total population.
Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic said that as of today parks and promenades may be open, and the visitors must keep the appropriate distance and adhere to all official recommendations for the disease prevention.
He added that as of today, the open-air training is also allowed, but only with a full adherence to all recommendations from the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team.
We will see later what can be done for indoor sports. That decision will also be made soon, Tiodorovic announced.
He added that as of 4 May intercity transport will resume operation, as well as public transport in Novi Sad and Kragujevac, and as of 8 May in Belgrade and Nis, but without air conditioning.
Shopping malls will open as of 8 May, kindergartens as of 11 May, but with a good preparation, whereas air traffic will resume as of 18 May.
