Kon said at a regular press conference at the Palace of Serbia that 4,365 people have been tested since the last report, 263 of whom are positive.
He stated that 3,044 patients were hospitalised, 85 patients were on the ventilatory support, while a total of 64,303 were tested.
In the last 24 hours, he added, five more have died, with two male and three female, so the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the epidemic now stands at 156.
According to him, 1,182 patients were cured, the mortality rate is 1.94%, with the figure for men being 100 and for women 56.
According to him, out of 238 people treated at KBC Dragisa Misovic, 42 have children, 27 mothers, eight babies, three of whom are positive, nine are pregnant women, four of whom are positive, six are pregnant and two are more women who are surgically cared for and not positive.
He pointed out that 88 children had been treated so far and that the capacities for the care of children and mothers were filled, which is why it should be considered that the treatment facilities should be opened in other places, primarily in the south of Serbia.
He reported that 545 health workers are positive for coronavirus, as well as 561 beneficiaries of social care and residential care facilities for adults and the elderly and 149 employees in these institutions.
He also said that the medical section of the crisis response team did not think that schools and kindergartens should be opened before 1 June and would not support the idea because of the possible spread of the infection.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and Head of crisis response team for Nisava and Toplica District Branislav Nedimovic said that the government made new decisions on preventing the spread of COVID-19 at today's session.
Nedimovic said that some places, such as Negotin, are hot spots, but that the situation is much better in Nisava and Toplica district than it was 15 days ago.
