President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin attended today the opening of a new hospital in Karaburma with 60 beds for the treatment of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 infection.
Vucic said that the new hospital in Karaburma is a temporary facility for at least 30 years and that everything has been done in the best possible way.
He said that we cannot relax although the situation is calming down and pointed out that since the beginning of the epidemic, our country has shown that it is capable of building temporary and new hospitals, to open new laboratories and start its own production of necessary things.
The President said that the latest tests show that intensity of the epidemic is decreasing, which is largely the result of a three-day curfew for Easter holidays.
Vucic added that we have dozens of ventilators at storages right now and that the capacity of all health centres in Serbia will be boosted with this equipment.
Serbia has donated 20 ventilators to Republika Srpska, two to the city of Gorazde, whereas ventilators have been delivered to all COVID hospitals in the interior of the country – Leskovac, Novi Pazar, Pancevo, Vucic explained.
