Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar announced that, since the last report until today at 15.00, samples of 2,880 persons have been tested, 408 of which were positive, whereas five patients have died.
At a regular press conference at the Palace of Serbia, Loncar stated that 2,245 patients have been hospitalised to date, with 128 patients using the ventilatory support, while five have stopped using the ventilator in the last 24 hours.
A total of 26,278 people were tested, he said, adding that of the deceased five patients, as a result of infection with the virus, two were male and three were female, with an average age of 69.
99 people have died in our country since the epidemic began, Loncar added.
The Minister stressed that the epidemiological situation in Serbia is under control, except in Nis and Pozarevac, while Belgrade is at the same level as before.
He said today's results were not bad and that it is encouraging that there were fewer patients on the ventilator, which is extremely important.
He also stated that 243 users and 32 workers are coronavirus-positive nursing homes, adding that there are 557 infected healthcare workers in our country, accounting for 11.43% of the total number infected.
At present, 360 health workers are in hospital treatment, the Minister said, adding that 165 people have been cured, which means they tested negative to coronavirus twice, while a total of 25 patients were removed from ventilation.
According to him, there were 52 patients with signs of respiratory infection at the Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases in Gornja Toponica, of whom two patients and six employees were positive for coronavirus.
