Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali today called on businessmen to apply for the benefits of the €5.1 billion programme aimed at mitigating the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic to the economy.
Mali recalled that the legal framework for the implementation of the programme was adopted at a Serbian government session on 10 April and that as early as yesterday businessmen started applying through the Tax Administration web portal.
The Minister stated that in less than 24 hours there were 15,000 businessmen who opened a special-purpose account and thus applied for the measures.
With only two clicks they can postpone the payment of their tax obligations and receive the payment for their employees in the amount of a minimum monthly salary.
All private companies can use the measures prescribed by the Programme, provided that from 15 March until the date of entry into force of the Regulation, they have not laid off more than 10 percent of their employees.
This does not apply to employees who concluded a fixed-term employment contract with a private company before 15 March for the period ending in the period from that date until the date of entry into force of the Regulation.
