Donation of Chinese company CRIC for fight against COVID-19

Belgrade, 13 April 2020

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure received today a donation by the Chinese company “China Railway International” (CRIC), which consists of money, infrared thermometers - thermal imaging cameras to check body temperature at the entrances to buildings and 200,000 medical masks.

In Serbia, 534 Chinese workers work for this company and they collected a cash donation worth RSD 2.18 million. This part of the donation has been paid in full to the bank account of the Zvezdara Clinical Hospital Centre.

The second part of the donation is four sets of thermal imaging cameras, which will generally be distributed at the entrances to buildings where the line ministry employees work, each set containing a camera, laptop, software, screen and more.

The third part of the donation consists of 200,000 medical masks, which are much needed by everyone working on the frontline of the coronavirus epidemic. Its delivery has been organised by the Serbian Embassy in China.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic emphasized that we are in a period when solidarity and friendship can help us come out of such big and severe crises.

Mihajlovic recalled that this company is a contractor, that is, a member of the consortium on the largest infrastructure project in Serbia at the moment - the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest express railway through our country.
