Vucic pointed out that a large number of masks, invasive and non-invasive ventilators and other medical devices had arrived in Nis, adding that, with the assistance delivered today, there is sufficient equipment for the entire south of Serbia.
He requested that the equipment be distributed as soon as possible to health institutions in Leskovac, Vranje, Pirot, as well as hospitals in the Toplica Administrative District.
Vucic then met with representatives of the local government, the Clinical Centre of Nis and other health care institutions at the City Hall in Nis.
The President said that now the discipline of citizens is of paramount importance, since the next 10 days are crucial in the fight against coronavirus and that the fate of the epidemic is being resolved by 20 April.
Vucic also pointed out that the state sends protective equipment, materials and ventilators every seven days, noting that 29 clinical ventilators and 20 non-invasive ventilators were delivered to Nis last month, along with other medical and protective equipment.
The President also noted that the hospital in Leskovac will be transformed into a COVID hospital, as well as the entire building of the new Clinical Centre of Nis, with the exception of the Emergency Ward.
He also said that 5,000 medicines from pharmaceutical company Sanofi will arrive in Serbia as aid from France, expressing his gratitude to President Emanuel Macron.
