Epidemiologist Predrag Kon pointed out that COVID hospitals are becoming fuller and that additional facilities will be needed.
Health facilities are filling up, especially in severe and moderate cases, so we are already on the verge of capacity in all hospitals in Serbia, he reiterated, adding that additional capacities would also be needed in patients' triage facilities, in which patients are separated and from there they are sent to hospital facilities.
Asked whether the curfew would be extended from Thursday to Monday during the Easter holiday weekend, he said the profession is not thinking of celebrating the holidays, but of preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
We are thinking about what the situation is and whether we will propose sharper measures than these that are in force now. It is clear that there must be disconnection in contacts, and if it has to be implemented, it should be implemented as soon as possible, because that is the only way we will have effects, Kon said.
According to him, on the basis of figures in the coming days, it will be determined whether the current measures have had effects and, if there is a fall, then the profession will once again consider whether more stringent measures are necessary and propose an appropriate decision.
