Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today that in a time of a challenging and difficult situation that we are all facing, transportation has become a pillar of democracy.
Mihajlovic underlined that owing to the well-functioning transportation, a regular supply of citizens has been ensured, Serbian citizens have been returned to Serbia and foreign citizens transported to their countries.
For this we have received praise from everyone – from the United States of America, Germany, France and other countries.
She stated that the issue of supply at the time of the epidemic is a basic human issue, and that since the declaration of the state of emergency until this morning 58,000 freight vehicles and trucks have entered the territory of Serbia, half of which for the supply of our country.
She stated that 2,500 workers are currently working at ten largest infrastructure construction sites in Serbia, recalling the Ministry's recommendation for all construction sites to continue working where possible during the epidemic, while respecting all security measures.
