Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic said today that 600 to 700 people violated the measure of ban of movement from 13.00 on Saturday until 5.00 today.
In a statement to Radio-Television Serbia, Stefanovic said that these people were punished, that is, police pressed misdemeanor and criminal charges against them to prosecutors and courts.
Speaking about respecting self-isolation measures, he said the situation is better than before and stressed that the police control every citizen who is in self-isolation.
Anyone who violates the measure of self-isolation will be sanctioned, he said, pointing out that the first sentences are three and two years in prison, because it is a serious crime that threatens own and other people’s lives.
Stefanovic said that 31 people were infected in the Interior Ministry, while 900 people are currently in self-isolation.
