Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric said today that the government has agreed to hire 75 new doctors and 200 nurses in Kosovo-Metohija and that the decision will be implemented in the coming days.
At a press conference at the Palace of Serbia, Djuric said the medical staff will work at three of our major health centres in Kosovo.
According to him, in the previous period, Belgrade delivered 30,000 protective masks, 36,000 gloves, 2,000 particular masks, 10,000 caps, 20,000 boots, 90 overalls, 40 safety glasses to Serbian communities in Kosovo.
He also said that 250 trucks, or 2,500 tons of basic foodstuffs, have been organised in the last three weeks, adding that the issue of food supply was now no longer raised.
Djuric said that in the past few weeks, a "line of life" had been established for the Serb people in Kosovo-Metohija and a huge effort was made to ensure that everything was working properly in the Serbian community.
We have ensured that the healthcare system is able to meet the challenge we are facing – that we have enough medical supplies, food, medicines and staff that are needed, Djuric said.
