Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that today is the most difficult day for Serbia since the coronavirus outbreak, with another 305 newly infected and eight more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Brnabic stressed at the Batajica airport that the number of deaths in the last 24 hours has been the highest so far.
The Prime Minister pointed out that as of yesterday at 15.00, 305 newly infected persons have been registered, or almost three times more than yesterday.
She expressed concern that this was the day when exponential growth starts.
She expressed her gratitude to the partners from the Russian Federation for the assistance that is coming at the most difficult day for Serbia.
This is the day when we entered the fifth week of the fight and when two very difficult weeks are ahead of us, which is evident based on today's data, Brnabic concluded.
The Ministry of Health announced that a total of 1,476 confirmed COVID-19 cases registered in Serbia at 15.00 today.
Since the last report, 748 individuals have been tested, of whom 305 are positive.
A total of 874 patients were hospitalised, 81 of whom are using the ventilators.
In Serbia, a total of 5,756 people were tested who met the case definition criteria.
Unfortunately, a further eight deaths have been reported since the previous report, bringing the number of coronavirus deaths to 39.
Six males and two females died.
Their average age is 70.75, and, as with all previous victims, they had comorbidities, that is, several other diseases that contributed to the fatal outcome.
