Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said that police escort for trucks in transit through Serbia has been abolished as of today, which will enable faster transportation of goods to end customers.

Mihajlovic stated that the Ministry has sent an initiative for Slovenia and Croatia to adopt the same measure, so that the citizens of Serbia, as well as other countries in the surrounding area, receive goods and foodstuffs faster.
Serbia has taken the first step, and we believe that our colleagues in the region, with whom we have had good and very intensive cooperation since the start of the coronavirus pandemic crisis, will soon adopt similar measures, the Minister said.
For transit trucks, she said, transit routes have been defined, and together with the Ministry of Mining and Energy, a total of nine gas stations have been determined at which freighters will be able to stay.
Petrol stations will be marked with a sign "TRANSIT", and leaflets will be printed with a map of Serbia with routes that indicate the locations of the petrol stations. The petrol stations will work 24 hours a day.
