Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today visited the Belgrade Fairgrounds, which will be a reception centre for all COVID-19 infected patients with mild symptoms.
Brnabic emphasised that today the Fairgrounds look much different than the public had the opportunity to see before, when the organisation and arrangement of the space had just begun.
She expressed her gratitude to the Serbian Armed Forces because without them this could not have been done in such a short time, the City of Belgrade, the City Staff, as well as all the people who work day and night.
These are not ideal conditions, but these are the best possible conditions for the treatment of those infected who will be under the constant care of doctors, the Prime Minister explained and added that at the galleries of the Fairgrounds there are specialist doctors' offices, psychologists and X-ray machines, so the patients will have full care and attention.
In this way, we can safely and effectively treat a large number of those infected with minimal symptoms and know after 14 days that these people have been cured and acquired immunity, Brnabic said.
According to the Prime Minister, any other way would be insecure, slow and would not ensure that we really know that we have solved one part of the problem and then go ahead to solve the rest.
In cooperation with the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Health, the City Staff and all others, we have made an effort to arrange the premises at the Fairgrounds so that they are as comfortable as possible, that patients have TVs, internet, board games, good food and sanitary conditions, while the temperature in the hall will be 20 degrees, the Prime Minister pointed out.
