Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said today that in the first two nights since the introduction of curfew, police issued 2,000 warnings and pressed 270 criminal charges.
In a statement to Television Prva, Stefanovic pointed out that the number has dropped significantly since then, because the allegation of violations of that measure involved less than 500 citizens across Serbia.
He added that there are 100 people in prisons across the country who violated the measure of self-isolation, and expressed his expectation that they would be punished by harsh legal penalties.
Checks are carried out on a daily basis, police is checking on these citizens on the phone several times during the day, and there is also patrol, said the Minister, and at the same time thanked the citizens for adhering to the measures prescribed by the government of Serbia.
