Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi and UNDP Resident Representative in Serbia Francine Pickup signed an agreement today on a €7.5 million aid intended to strengthen capacities and support the activities of the Republic of Serbia to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

EU to assist Serbia with €7.5m to curb coronavirus

Joksimovic underlined that this is the first €7.5 million in non-repayable aid which, with the most expedited procedures, will be used for the procurement of medical equipment.
Of this amount, €2 million will be immediately spent on the cost of air transportation of medical supplies from China and India, Joksimovic said.
The Minister pointed out that Serbia has shown a high degree of responsibility, but that it is important to cooperate and seek help from others in this situation.
Joksimovic said that the signing of an agreement on an additional €6 million in aid is expected next week for the procurement of the necessary equipment.
Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi said that the signing of today's agreement is the first example of a reallocation of funds. With the help of UNDP, we will help Serbia to implement the most urgent measures.
