The Ministry of Justice announced that it has sent to the judicial authorities recommendations for action in cases where persons who do not respect self-isolation measures commit the criminal offence of failure to comply with health regulations during the epidemic and the offence of transmitting infectious diseases during a state of emergency.

Stricter sanctions for people who break self-isolation measures

It is recommended that public prosecutor's offices make a mandatory request for detention for all persons who violate the self-isolation measure prescribed by the competent institutions (Ministry of Health and Ministry of the Interior).
If a person violates a measure of self-isolation, the public prosecutor must propose to the court to order such person a detention measure, which these persons will serve in special institutions intended for this purpose.
The Criminal Sanctions Enforcement Directorate of the Ministry of Justice has provided three special facilities within the administration that will accommodate persons who violate the measures, located in Vrsac, Pozarevac and Pirot.
