First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic today conveyed his sincere condolences to Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio on the huge number of victims of the coronavirus epidemic in that country.
Dacic said in a telephone call that at the current moment, in which the whole world, and Italy more than any European country, is facing a terrible coronavirus epidemic, he wants to convey to the friendly Italian people expressions of sincere compassion and solidarity.
He expressed his belief that Italy will face this terrible health challenge and endure a difficult period thanks to its knowledge, experience and courage.
Dacic informed Maio that in order to prevent the spread of coronaviruses, the Government of Serbia made a decision to temporarily ban the entry into the country of nationals from certain countries, including Italy, emphasising that this decision should in no way jeopardise excellent bilateral relations and that this is only a temporary measure.
