The Yugoslavs didn't take part only at two world championships. The first time in 1959, and the second time in 1994, because of sanctions.
In twelve world championships, the Yugoslav players won ten medals - five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
The most impressive result was scored in Manila in 1978, when the Yugoslav team won gold medal, winning all matches, with an average of 103,3 per game. At that championship, the best Yugoslav scorers were Drazen Dalipagic (200 points), Dragan Kicanovic (164) and Ratko Radovanovic (120).
