Hosts Serbia kicked off their campaign at the 10th edition of the UEFA Futsal Championship with a commanding 5-1 (1-1) victory over Slovenia in the first match of the tournament in Belgrade on 2 February.
Serbia's Slobodan Janjic scored a penalty kick in the 17th minute, Mladen Kocic drove the ball into the net in the 21st and 31st minutes, Slobodan Rajcevic scored in the 27th and Marko Prsic in the 34th.
The scorer for Slovenia's only goal was Igor Osredkar in the third minute.
Serbia was the better rival in the match, played in front of 11,000 spectators, a record visit at the opening of a futsal tournament on the Old Continent, and is now only a step away from qualifying for the knockout stage.
Serbia will play the only remaining Group A team, Portugal, on Saturday, and Slovenia is facing them on Thursday.
