European Water Polo Championship starts in Belgrade

The 2016 European Water Polo Championship has started today in Kombank Arena in Belgrade and it will last until 23 January.

The competition began with the victory of Spain over Slovakia, and the official opening will be held this evening.
The championship includes 16 men’s and 12 women’s national teams.
The Serbian men’s team will try to keep the European golden medal, while the women’s national team wants to get out of the shadow of the men’s team.
The Serbian men’s team, the world and European champion, will play its first game against the Olympic champion Croatia.
The Serbian women’s team will play its first game against Germany on 11 January.
A total of 100 matches will be plaid in the indoor pool of Kombank Arena.
Apart from guests, the championship will be followed by 300 accredited reporters.
