Vucic, who together with Prime Minister of France Manuel Valls and Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali visited Obrenovac, said that it is a big thing for this city, as people will have employment and children will have a future.
He expressed gratitude to the government of France for the quick and efficient help to Obrenovac after the floods, as well as for the involvement of French companies that helped repair the damage.
He said that RSD 5 billion was invested in Obrenovac and that 64 houses were built there, and pointed out that government has done everything it could to help.
Vucic said that the visit of Prime Minister Valls to Obrenovac is the greatest honour that this city has got in the past five decades, and said that Serbia is honoured, encouraged and proud of the fact that Valls was welcomed by thousands of people.
Valls said that children of Obrenovac who he met have sent the most beautiful message of hope, and that he will never forget them.
There are times when political and diplomatic dimensions move on to something much stronger, and this is the moment, said the Prime Minister of France.
According to Valls, the French fire-fighters who assisted in the flooded Pozarevac and Kostolac were impressed by the courage of the inhabitants of the affected areas and they experienced unique moments that they will never forget, they felt solidarity and friendship among the citizens.
Just like one hundred years ago, France and Serbia are together again, stressed Valls and confirmed that France wants to continue to participate in the work and reconstruction.
Addressing the citizens gathered in front of the municipal building, Valls said that Serbia and France will build a common future in the EU and France will back Serbia.
By helping the affected areas in Serbia, France can be proud of itself because it helped the Serbs in difficult times, just as it was the case a hundred years ago, Valls said.
Vucic, Valls, Mali and Mayor of Obrenovac Miroslav Cuckovic also visited the construction site where a house for a multi-member family is being built thanks to the donation of the government of France.
