Vucic, addressing the citizens in the Kalemegdan park, said that Serbia won the toughest challenges in the First World War and told all those who are today trying to undermine peace and stability - that they will not succeed.
He stated that Serbia is free and undividable, noting that no one will threaten the stability of the country, no matter how hard they try.
Vucic and Valls recalled that historical ties between Serbia and France reach deep back into the past and that the monument at Kalemegdan is a symbol of the ties between the two nations, which will grow in the future.
Valls underlined that France is happy because it has found again the brotherly Serbia and that it is waiting for it in Europe with open arms.
He underlined that the two countries, yesterday united in the war, are today united again in a project of peace - Europe, noting that that is a way for the French people to say "We love Serbia as much as it loved us."
Valls announced that the French government in the coming period will engage in the restoration of the Monument of Gratitude to France.
The laying of the wreaths was preceded by the anthems of Serbia and France. At the ceremony, the choir of the French school in Belgrade performed the song "The French Ship is Moving," which is a testimony of the help that this country had offered Serbia in the First World War and which Valls described as very touching.
After the ceremony, Vucic and Valls spoke to citizens who attended the event, among whom were representatives of the associations of friends of France and for cultivating the tradition of liberation wars.
