Djokovic donates prize money of Rome tournament to flood victims

Serbia’s no. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic will donate the prize money he won as the winner of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Rome in the amount of $500,000 to those affected by the floods that hit Serbia, along the additional $100,000 collected so far by the Novak Djokovic Foundation.

One day after winning the tournament in Rome, Djokovic decided to donate the prize money to those affected by the catastrophic floods in Serbia and thus help his people.
Novak also continued to work on raising awareness of the global public with a series of interviews which he gave to the international media. In addition, he is preparing a letter which he will send to all sports officials in the world, institutions and organisations asking them to get involved in raising assistance for our people.
All funds raised will be used for the rehabilitation of kindergartens and schools throughout Serbia which were damaged in the catastrophic floods.
The Foundation will make all decisions in coordination with the Serbian government and the relevant ministries.
The Novak Djokovic Foundation has so far collected more than $600,000, of which more than $100,000 are individual donations made through PayPal.
