Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue in a caretaker capacity Demo Beriša met today with Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Marcel Peško to discuss enhancing cooperation and the upcoming elections for national minority councils.
During the meeting, OSCE representatives were briefed on the procedures for conducting the elections for national minority councils, as well as the activities being undertaken by the relevant institutions to ensure the conditions for their smooth conduct.
The meeting also addressed the further improvement of cooperation regarding the protection and exercise of national minority rights, as well as opportunities to strengthen institutional capacities for operating in a multilingual environment.
It was noted during the discussion that continuous cooperation and information exchange are vital for further improving the election process for national minority councils, as well as for strengthening institutional capacities and ensuring the effective exercise of national minority rights.
