State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nevena Jovanović participated today in Bratislava in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Friends of the Western Balkans group and foreign ministers from the Western Balkans.
The participants in the meeting emphasised that the Western Balkans constitutes an inseparable part of Europe, and that it is therefore necessary to ensure continuity in the European Union accession process so that membership candidates may gradually experience the concrete benefits of the integration process and accede to membership in the Union as prepared as possible.
They also underlined the strong support of the member states of the Friends of the Western Balkans group for the region’s continued process of European integration, assessing that closer cooperation and gradual integration are key to the overall stability, prosperity and European future of the European continent.
