Strong commitment of Serbia, Israel to advancing overall relations

Belgrade/Jerusalem, 28 April 2026

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today in Jerusalem with Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations, the launch of a strategic dialogue, the further deepening of economic cooperation, as well as current global issues.

At the meeting, held following the first session of the strategic dialogue between Serbia and Israel, its importance was highlighted as a historic step forward and a strong message of strengthening mutual relations.

He recalled that, in difficult historical circumstances, the Serbian people had always stood by the Jewish people, and that the Jewish community in Serbia today enjoys full respect, which further reinforces mutual trust and represents an important foundation for good relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was devoted to economic cooperation, noting that Israel, as a strong and highly developed economy, has significant investment potential, while Serbia, with stable economic growth, offers a favourable environment and substantial potential for further attracting foreign investment.

Đurić also welcomed the confirmation of Israel’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, assessing it as another indication of the strong commitment to further strengthening overall relations and deepening economic cooperation.
