On the second day of the International Policy and Practice Exchange on Child Protection in the Digital Environment in Ankara, Macura emphasised that after the tragic events of May 2023, there was an accelerated improvement in protection mechanisms, and that the aforementioned platform had become a central place for reporting, coordinating and preventing violence.
She emphasised that since the launch of the platform, there has been a constant increase in the number of reports of violence, which is interpreted as an indicator of greater trust of citizens in institutions and the availability of protection systems.
The Minister added that the key to success lies in connecting institutions, but also in prevention through the education of children, parents and teachers, emphasising that the safety of children on the internet cannot be the result of isolated measures, but rather continuous and coordinated work.
Serbia's participation in the Ankara conference has confirmed the strong political will to prevent and combat violence against children, the importance of international cooperation in this area, as well as the potential for exchanging experiences and improving policies aimed at creating a safer digital environment for children.
