Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, and Head of the Regional Hub of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for Western Balkans Damien Sorrell confirmed today strong partnership and mutual readiness to further improve cooperation.

Continued cooperation with EIB on water infrastructure development

During the talks, the importance of cooperation to date was highlighted, especially in the field of financing infrastructural projects, support to sustainable development, the strengthening of economic resilience and the development of local communities.
Glamočić underlined that the European Investment Bank has been recognised as one of key partners in the realisation of projects in the Republic of Serbia.
Special emphasis was placed on the future cooperation in the field of water management, including projects in the field of water supply, water resources management, irrigation, as well as flood defence and adjustment to climate change.
The Minister pointed out that activities are currently underway on the realization of planned projects as part of the existing financial cycle, whereas the planning of new activities will be harmonised with strategic priorities, including the goals defined as part of development plans until 2030.
Sorrell pointed to the readiness of EIB to support Serbia through financial instruments, but also through technical assistance in the preparation and realisation of projects.
