Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić discussed today with a delegation of the Council of Europe (CoE), led by Secretary General Alain Berset, the cooperation to date and future activities.
Vujić pointed out that Serbia, as a member state, continuously implements activities based on the recommendations of the CoE, both in terms of the implementation of GRECO recommendations from the Fifth Evaluation Round and activities in the field of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as in other areas under the purview of the line ministry.
He noted that Serbia had requested an ex-post analysis on the adopted amendments to the set of judicial laws, thereby confirming the continuation of close cooperation with the Venice Commission on this issue, as well as on the issue of the Law on the Judicial Academy.
The CoE delegation commended Serbia for its achievements in the field of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, particularly given that it is only the second country to be evaluated in accordance with the new, improved methodology.
