Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić today marked the launch of a procedure to deploy the 5G network in Serbia at the Electric Vehicles Days – EV Days event in Novi Sad.
The beginning of the procedure entails the publication of the proposed rulebook on the minimum conditions for issuing individual licenses for the use of radio frequency spectrum based on the conducted public bidding procedure in certain radio frequency bands and holding public consultations for 30 days.
Once the public consultations are completed, the final version of the proposed rulebook will be prepared and published, after which the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) will conduct the public bidding procedure for the allocation of radio frequency bands required for the introduction of next-generation mobile networks.
The ministry expects RATEL to complete said procedure by mid-2025.
