Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisic talked today in Rome with Italian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Andrea Orlando about improving bilateral relations between the two countries.
The possibility of signing a new agreement in the field of social security was discussed at the meeting, as well as the signing of a memorandum on cooperation between the two ministries in the field of labour and employment.
The two ministers assessed that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy are friendly and very developed, and that by signing these two documents, those relations would be further improved.
Kisic expressed gratitude to Italy for its strong and continuous support to Serbia in the process of European integration, and added that she expected cooperation between the two ministries to be even more intensive, especially in the areas of safety and health at work and youth policy.
Orlando praised the efforts of the government of Serbia to start the process of implementing the "Youth Guarantees" programme, as well as the formation of a working group that is working on drafting a plan for the implementation of that program.
On the sidelines of the conference on aging, organized by the UN Economic Commission in Rome, Kisic also met with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of North Macedonia Jovanka Trancevski, with whom she discussed continued cooperation, especially within the Open Balkans initiative.
