Several agreements signed at “Open Balkans” Summit in Tirana

Belgrade/Tirana, 21 December 2021

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Ministers of North Macedonia and Albania – Zoran Zaev and Edi Rama respectively signed in Tirana today the Agreement on free access to the labour market in the Western Balkans, as part of the regional cooperation initiative “Open Balkans”.

This agreement will enable the introduction of a single work permit for these three countries.

Vucic, Zaev and Rama also signed the Agreement on connecting the system of electronic identification of citizens of the Western Balkans.

The Agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary, phytosanitary, food safety and animal feed control in the Western Balkans was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic, Minister of Agriculture of Albania Frida Krifca and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of North Macedonia Trajan Dimkovski.

The Agreement between the Serbian government and the Council of Ministers of Albania on mutual recognition of approvals issued by Authorized Economic Operators for Safety and Security (AEOS) was signed by Serbian Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Minister of Finance and Economy of Albania Delina Ibrahimaj.

The Agreement on cooperation between accreditation bodies of the three countries was signed on the sidelines of the summit.
