Strengthening relations with UAE in field of new technologies

Belgrade/Dubai, 16 November 2021

In continuation of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic talked with Minister of Defence of that country Mohammed bin Ahmad al Bawardi al Falasi about the development and application of innovations and new technologies in the defence industry.

The two officials talked about the development of the national cyber security system, the use of space technologies for defence purposes and the application of artificial intelligence in the field of defence.

The interlocutors confirmed their readiness to strengthen relations between the Republic of Serbia and the UAE in the field of research and development of innovations applicable in the field of security.

Popovic pointed out that the two countries have developed cooperation in the field of defence and expressed confidence that this cooperation will be further improved in the future.

He especially pointed to the high competencies of Serbian engineers who are recognised in the world for the development of the most sophisticated solutions in the military industry.

Earlier today, Popovic exchanged experiences in building innovation ecosystems of the two countries with Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy of the UAE Omar bin Sultan Al Olama.
