Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin and Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Sandor Pinter stated that Serbian-Hungarian joint police patrols will protect the borders of the two countries as of today.
At the Horgos-Roszke border crossing, where the ministers visited members of the joint patrols, they underlined that the relations between our two peoples and states are at their highest historical level.
Vulin stated that it is not acceptable for Serbia to be a parking lot for migrants and that the joint patrols protect Serbia and Hungary and our way of life.
The strengthening of the Hungarian border is good news for Serbia too because when migrants know that a border is well-guarded they do not come there, the Minister explained and added that he is grateful to Hungary on the joint patrols that are already deployed at Serbia’s border with North Macedonia.
Pinter said that during the meeting with Vulin it was confirmed that cooperation of Serbia with Hungary is at the highest political level, including cooperation in the field of the interior.
Serbia and Hungary have the same stance regarding illegal migration and the result of that are joint patrols on the borders of the two countries, but also of Hungary, Serbia and North Macedonia, which should contribute to a better protection of borders, he stated.
