Selakovic said that in that context, the visit of President Obrador to Serbia would be of special, historic importance.
He underlined that Serbia highly appreciates Mexico's consistent position not to recognise the so-called independent Kosovo and its support to the inviolability of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
The Minister informed Obrador about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the latest provocative moves by Pristina, and the danger to which Serbia's sacred sites and its cultural heritage are exposed.
Selakovic also expressed readiness for strengthening cooperation in many areas, such as culture, science, sports, education, tourism and cooperation of cities and municipalities.
Today Selakovic also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon and on that occasion underlined that the fact that Serbia and Mexico mark 75 years since establishing diplomatic relations this year speaks about years-long ties between the two countries.
Concrete steps for the further strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between Serbia and Mexico, especially in the field of the economy, were discussed.
The ministers agreed that in order to intensify this cooperation, it is of crucial importance to conclude as soon as possible the agreements on the investment promotion and protection, double taxation and the abolishment of visas for the citizens of Serbia.
