Cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of labor and social protection

Belgrade/Baku, 6 July 2021

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Darija Kisic Tepavcevic signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two ministries today in Baku with the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev.

Kisic Tepavcevic pointed out that the Memorandum, which covers the areas of work and employment, social protection, safety and health at work and protection of persons with disabilities, is the basis on which future cooperation will be based.

Kisic Tepavcevic and Babayev discussed the possibility of cooperation on certain projects in the field of bilateral development assistance, which would primarily refer to the field of social protection.

The Minister emphasised that the process of adopting strategic documents and laws in the field of social protection is underway in Serbia, such as strategies for social protection and deinstitutionalization and development of community services, as well as amendments to the Law on Social Protection.

Babayev pointed out that this visit of Kisic Tepavcevic will contribute to even better relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan, and he confirmed the support and determination of his country to support the reform processes in the field of social protection implemented by Serbia through various projects.
