Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic, together with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Temenushko Petkov, marked the start of the construction works on a part of the gas pipeline towards the Bulgarian-Serbian border.

Construction of gas pipeline to Serbia starts in Bulgaria

During his visit, Antic pointed out that this is an extremely important day for the Turkish Stream project, which should ensure, above all, the connection of that pipeline via Bulgaria to Serbia.
The Minister stated that it can be said with absolute certainty that the Bulgarian side will finish the project necessary for supplying Serbia with gas, noting that our country will be able to expect gas deliveries from this direction in 2020.
He pointed out that for all in the region, this is great news and confirmation that the governments of all three countries are focusing on energy security and security of supply, resulting in close cooperation in the field of energy.
Antic said that the main gas pipeline through our country from Bulgaria to the Hungarian border represents a huge potential that will make Serbia a transit country, noting that all the countries on the future pipeline route are carrying out activities in accordance with the plan.
