Apart form the Olympic Games, the Universiade is the second largest sporting competition worldwide and the greatest ever sporting event to be held in Serbia.
For 12 days almost 8,500 student sportsmen from 144 countries will compete in 15 sports, such as athletics, wrestling, football, basketball, volleyball, fencing, swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, table tennis, archery, tennis, taekwondo and water polo.
The competition will be held in 35 sports venues.
