Observed by sections, in March 2018 compared with March 2017, the following trends were noted:
• the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 21.6%,
• the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 9.2%, and
• the section of manufacturing – remained on the same level,
in the period January – March 2018, relative to the same period 2017, the trends were noted as follows:
• the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 10.9%,
• the section of manufacturing – growth of 5.0%, and
• the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 3.0%.
The data on industrial production by destination in March 2018, compared to March 2017, expressed growth in the production of:
• energy, by 16.0%
• durable consumer goods, by 2.2%, and
• intermediate products, energy excluded, by 1.0%,
while fall was noted for
• capital goods, by 4.5% and
• non - durable consumer goods, by 0.4%.
Industrial production volume in March 2018, compared to March 2017, expressed the following trends:
• growth in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 58%,
• fall in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 42%.
The largest influence on industrial production growth in March 2018 compared to March 2017 had the divisions of: generation of electricity, mining of coal and lignite, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, manufacture of machinery and equipment, n.e.c. and manufacture of metal products except machinery.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for March 2018, compared to 2017 average, indicates 2.7% growth of the overall industrial production and 1.8% growth of manufacturing.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for March 2018, compared to February 2018, indicates 0.9% growth of the overall industrial production and 1.0% fall of manufacturing.
The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in March 2018 compared to 2017 average increased by 6.8% and manufacturing increased by 4.7%.
The data on the industrial production in 2018 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.
Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
