Preservation of Kosovo, Republika Srpska – Serbia’s state, national goals

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica stated today that Serbia will unequivocally defend Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Agreement, because the preservation of Kosovo-Metohija and Republika Srpska are imperative goals of its state and national policies.

“Lajcak’s measures and Ahtisaari’s plan aim at bringing down Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Agreement, that is, they strive to declare unilateral independence of the province and abolish Republika Srpska. That means open endangerment of the Serbian people’s essential interests”, reads Kostunica’s statement to the press.
He emphasised that as a signatory to the Dayton Agreement, Serbia will offer all its support to Republika Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik and Republika Srpska institutions in order to maintain the position of Srpska as stated in the Dayton Agreement. He reiterated that the preservation of Kosovo and Republika Srpska are now the most pressing goals of Serbia’s state and national policies.
I informed Prime Minister Dodik that he may count on Serbia’s full support and together we will defend Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Agreement with the same decisiveness, stressed the Serbian Prime Minister.
